Released on Netflix on February 27, Accused follows Dr. Geetika Sen, a highly respected surgeon and gynecologist whose carefully built life begins to unravel when allegations of sexual misconduct surface at her workplace. As the claims attract growing attention and public scrutiny intensifies, the fallout extends far beyond the hospital. The pressure soon seeps into her personal life, putting a strain on her relationship with her wife, Dr. Meera.

Instead of relying on dramatic twists or sensational moments, the film takes a more measured and introspective approach. Accused leans into the unease of the situation, allowing the tension to build slowly as the story unfolds, Netflix shared in a press release. Rather than offering clear-cut answers, it leaves room for uncertainty, encouraging viewers to grapple with the complicated ways truth, perception and bias can intersect.

What makes the film particularly compelling is its point of view. Accused centers the narrative on the person facing the allegations, an angle that’s rarely explored in Indian cinema.

Through understated performances and deliberate storytelling, the film examines complex themes such as authority, vulnerability, public judgment and the emotional toll of being at the center of a scandal.

Accused has sparked mixed reactions from viewers and critics alike, particularly because of its bold “gender-flip” take on a sexual harassment case. Still, that conversation hasn’t slowed its momentum. The film has already landed in the Top 10 in more than 70 countries worldwide.

The 5 Best Shows of February, Hands-Down

2026 has already given us an incredible new docuseries, five must-see shows, and an iconic halftime performance. But this week, there's even more great content.

Allow me, an entertainment editor, to help you parse through it all with shows and movies that are actually worth watching this week (or this weekend). I'm talking exciting new films like The Bride!, returning hits like Ted season two on Peacock and fun new shows like DTF St. Louis on HBO. Enjoy the best selections (recommended by yours truly) on Netflix, Apple TV, in theaters and more.

From Rooster to Young Sherlock, here's what to watch this weekend.

1. The Bride!

Hamnet who? Jessie Buckley is having quite the year, first with her stunning and emotional performance as Shakespeare's wife, and now, as...the Bride of Frankenstein?! This horror movie-slash-love story comes from director Maggie Gyllenhaal and also stars Christian Bale as a lonely Frankenstein.

Steve Carell plays an author who has a "complicated" relationship with his daughter. And the comedy is clearly a star-studded event with famous faces such as Connie Britton and Ted Lasso star Phil Dunster appearing.

Who doesn't love a show about a foul-mouthed bear and his human best friend, set in the '90s?! The hit comedy Ted is back for season two, and serves as a prequel to the equally successful Ted movies starring Mark Wahlberg.

4. DTF St. Louis

• Number of seasons: 1

Jason Bateman, David Harbour and Linda Cardellini star in this twist-filled new series about a love triangle and, ya know, a dead body. The trouble starts when Bateman's character introduces his friend and coworker to a spicy new app called DTF St. Louis. Murder and drama ensue.

5. Young Sherlock

• Rating: NR
• Number of seasons: 1

How did Sherlock Holmes get his start? Guy Ritchie (who last wowed me with his hit show The Gentlemen) answers the question in this new origin series about the now-world famous detective. The trailer alone delivers plenty of action and, of course, a crime scene.

6. R.J. Decker

• Rating: TV-14
• Number of seasons: 1

An ex-con who looks strangely familiar (am I the only Felicity fan here?) gets a fresh start as a private detective. The show is based on the Carl Hiaasen novel Double Whammy, and follows the former troublemaker as he tackles and solves cases.

7. Outlander

• Rating: TV-MA
• Number of seasons: 8

It's the eighth and final season of the time-travel romance series, Outlander, and the show is promising "edge-of-your-seat drama" for the last installment. The hit series is a mix of sci-fi, romance and history (with quite a bit of action thrown in). If you haven't watched yet, now's the perfect time to start binging.

8. Bachelor Mansion Takeover

• Rating: N/A
• Number of seasons: 1

As HGTV puts it, "Once they sought roses. Now, they seek...cohesive design elements?" Former Bachelor Nation contestants return in a competition to renovate the iconic Bachelor Mansion. Only one winner can emerge, only this time with cash instead of an engagement.

9. A Friend, A Murderer

• Rating: TV-MA
• Number of seasons: 1

I love a limited series (low commitment), I love true crime (the suspense of it all!) and I love a docuseries (it's real?! Even better!). So, this new Netflix show hits all the streaming sweet spots. Three friends revisit a series of crimes that have since haunted a small town in Denmark.

10. The Hunt

• Rating: 15+
• Number of seasons: 1

Leave it to Apple TV to explain why I'll be binge-watching this so hard: "When friends on a hunting trip get into a deadly clash with other hunters, they vow to keep it a secret." What ensues? "Paranoia," "revenge" and "savage instincts." Sign. Me. Up.

11. A Plan to Kill

• Rating: TV-14
• Number of seasons: 2

Oxygen True Crime returns with a whole new season about real-life killers who go above and beyond to try to get away with their crimes. The riveting series offers everything from staged crime scenes to terrifying scavenger hunts. I'd advise watching with the lights on.

12. American Classic

• Rating: N/A
• Number of seasons: 1

Umm, how did this star-studded comedy manage to slip so far under my radar? American Classic, starring Laura Linney and Kevin Kline, follows a Broadway star who returns to his small town to help rescue his family's dinner theater. As a theater nerd and lover of all things Laura Linney, I'll be binging this one.

13. The Bluff

• Rating: R
• Runtime: 103 minutes

Is it warm in here or is that just Priyanka Chopra-Jonas playing a badass ex-pirate in this dark and intense new Prime Video drama? Maybe both; I haven't quite figured out the heater in my apartment. Either way, I'll be watching (and hoping for a Jo-Bros appearance).

14. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters

• Rating: TV-14
• Number of seasons: 2

This big-budget monster show (think the Godzilla and King Kong universe) was a huge favorite of mine when season one first debuted in 2023. Now, the epic sci-fi/action/thriller series has returned, along with its stars: Kurt Russell and real-life son Wyatt Russell. (Can we get a Goldie cameo please?!)

15. Paradise

• Rating: TV-MA
• Number of seasons: 2

Has anyone else been waiting patiently impatiently for the follow-up season to one of 2025's best shows? Sterling K. Brown and Julianne Nicholson are back for Paradise season two, which picks up right where we left off. And I'm thrilled that Big Little Lies star Shailene Woodley is joining the cast!

The 8 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026 (6 of Them Have Something in Common...)

Basso currently stars as special ops agent Peter Sutherland in The Night Agent, which just premiered its third season. This time around, Sutherland races to catch a vigilante before their master plan wreaks havoc. The series is currently sitting at number four on Netflix's top ten list.

Prior to this starring role, Basso played Jake Baerington in A House of Dynamite (2025), also starring Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson. Basso's character is the Deputy National Security Advisor caught in the firestorm as an unidentified intercontinental ballistic missile barrels towards the U.S., and the government must scramble to defend its cities from ruin.

The actor's other notable projects include The Big C comedy-drama series (2010-2013), The Whole Truth (2016) and The Kings of Summer (2013)

While The Night Agent and A House of Dynamite are political thrillers, Basso's repertoire proves he has range. In The Big C, he plays the son (Adam Jamison) of the main character, Cathy Jamison, who is diagnosed with cancer; the series explores the family's humorous foibles as they navigate the diagnosis.

When I freaked out though? When I realized he also played JD Vance in Netflix's 2020 adaptation of the politician's 2016 memoir, Hillbilly Elegy.

In The Whole Truth, Basso co-stared along Keanu Reeves as Mike, a teenager suspected of murdering his father; Reeves plays defense attorney Richard Ramsay who is assigned to represent him.

The Kings of Summer saw Basso co-stars alongside Nick Robinson, Moisés Arias and Nick Offerman in Jordan Vogt-Roberts' indie coming-of-age film, which premiered at Sundance.

Basso also held supporting roles in Barely Lethal (2015) and Super 8 (2011).

Netflix’s #2 Show Is the High-Octane Thriller My Watchlist Needed

Don’t get me wrong, there’s a part of me that didn’t want to let it go. It’s rare for a show to truly pull me in the way this one did. The kind that leaves you spiraling over what might happen next, deep-diving into fan theories at 1 a.m. and somehow working it into casual conversation. (Because who doesn’t love a group chat breakdown of wildly chaotic character decisions?) That level of investment doesn’t happen often for me, so yes, I’m going to miss it.

When creator and executive producer Meaghan Oppenheimer confirmed ahead of the finale that this would be the third and final season, I wasn’t exactly thrilled. In my head, this show easily had five seasons in it. Season one closely followed Carola Lovering’s 2018 novel, but seasons two and three expanded far beyond the source material. Surely there was room for more drama at Baird College?

But the more I thought about it, the more I realized something: I’m glad it ended on a high note. We’ve all seen shows we love stretch themselves too thin, delivering extra seasons that just don’t hit the same. As Oppenheimer shared when announcing the end, Tell Me Lies “had reached its natural conclusion.” And honestly? I respect that.

We got answers. We got closure. We got to see how things ultimately shook out for our favorite (and least favorite) characters at fictional Baird College. And maybe most importantly, I’m finally free from the weekly emotional chokehold. I'm feeling like Lucy in that final scene.

So while no new episodes are coming, a rewatch is absolutely on the agenda.

Oof, 'Tell Me Lies' Is the Most Accurate Depiction of Toxic Dating I've Ever Seen—and I Have My College Diary to Prove It

The crime drama, currently airing season two, with season one now streaming on Netflix, follows an elite task force charged with recapturing the country’s most dangerous serial killers after an explosion at a top-secret underground prison known as “the Pit” sets them free.

The series stars Melissa Roxburgh (who starred in another major Netflix hit), alongside Nick Wechsler in season one. Wechsler plays Oliver Odell, a complex, charming, yet often reckless, former FBI profiler and prison warden of "The Pit" in Cheyenne, Wyoming. As you can imagine, he becomes a crucial part of the team working to track down the escaped killers.

But the second he appeared on my screen, I paused. Not because of the plot, because of him. I immediately thought, “Where have I seen him before?” And then it clicked.

Revenge.

Nick played Jack Porter in the ABC drama series Revenge (2011–2015), appearing in all four seasons. Jack was the loyal, earnest bartender at the Stowaway Tavern who eventually becomes a police officer. It was one of my favorite dramas (and, let’s be honest, still a top-tier comfort rewatch), so of course the recognition hit fast.

And Revenge isn’t his only résumé highlight. He’s popped up in Hulu’s High Potential, Prime Video’s The Boys, NBC favorite This Is Us and FX's It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, plus the Dynasty reboot.

This Action Drama Just Hit #1 on Netflix & It's Hands-Down the Best Film of the Year so Far

It's the most wonderful time of the year—and no, I'm not talking about Christmas. For all the pop culture fanatics out there, January through March means one thing, and one thing only: awards season. Following the Grammys and the BAFTAs, the excitement culminates at the Academy Awards, which this year will take place on March 15. While there are plenty of predictions about who will win (or should win), my focus is on two things: the fashion and the gift bags handed out to all the nominees. While a custom couture gown is not in my future, many of the contents of the gift bag surprisingly are. Read on for my seven favorites that the likes of Elle Fanning, Jacob Elordi and Ryan Coogler will all be receiving.

I'm something of a tea aficionado; my cupboard is overflowing with loose leaf blends that are accumulated faster than I can reasonably drink. After attending a Tea Forté tasting, I can say it's an excellent gift bag inclusion. Hot in the winter and iced in the summer? I never want to be without. (And for the record, you need their ginger/lemongrass blend.)

My number one for the month? Obviously, the buzzy and wildly bingable Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model. Tyra taking zero responsibility for all of the ANTM awfulness? Talk about great TV.

But coming in a close second is a really great show, and I promise you've never heard of it. I'm referring to How to Get to Heaven from Belfast on Netflix. It's funny, it's a thriller, it's a murder mystery and, most importantly, it's a must-watch.

This brand-new series comes from writer and creator Lisa McGee, who is also the mastermind behind one of my other favorite shows, Derry Girls (if you haven't seen it, OMG, go watch now!). And if you're as big a fan of DG as I am, you're going to be equally obsessed with How to Get to Heaven from Belfast.

In this comedy-thriller, three childhood friends get a mysterious email alerting them to the fact that the fourth member of their group has died under strange circumstances. It would only be natural for them to attend her wake to grieve, no? No. They're more interested in making sure that a long-buried secret doesn't come to light.

This series is very funny, with that signature Derry Girls quirky sense of humor. But it also provides plenty of mystery. What happened to their friend? What really happened all those years ago? And who sent them the mysterious message that their friend had died?

Most importantly, the show is super easy to binge. And yet, somehow, it's slipped under everyone's radar. It debuted earlier in February, but I haven't heard anyone talking about it. For those who have seen it though, they're calling it a hit—it has a 93 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The three main actresses—Caoilfhionn Dunne, Roisin Gallagher and Sinéad Keenan—are hilarious together. Fortunately, the talented trio is on screen for 90 percent of the show. And you might recognize a certain face from Game of Thrones as well, Catelyn Stark actress Michelle Fairley, who plays the bizarre mother of their childhood friend.

Honestly, I can't hype this show up enough—it's absolutely worth the watch. How to Get to Heaven from Belfast is now streaming on Netflix.

The 8 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026

But if I’m being honest, it wasn’t just the plot keeping me locked in. It was the cast. More specifically, Sarah Shahi. Every time she appeared on screen, I had the same thought: Why does she look so familiar?

Shahi plays Dr. Gabriela Torabi, a brilliant, empathetic psychologist who helped design the bunker itself. She’s thoughtful, a bit of a “people-pleaser,” and serves as a close confidante to the bunker’s leader. Basically, she’s central to the drama. But still, I knew I’d seen her somewhere before.

And then it hit me.

She led two seasons of Netflix’s extremely steamy, very NSFW drama, Sex/Life. The series, created by Stacy Rukeyser and inspired by the novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men by BB Easton, premiered on June 25, 2021. The second (and final) season dropped on March 2, 2023.

In Sex/Life, Shahi stars as Billie Connelly, a suburban mom of two and former academic who finds herself deep in a midlife spiral. Restless and nostalgic, Billie becomes fixated on memories of her passionate ex, Brad, while torn between him and her dependable husband, Cooper. It's messy, sexy and wildly bingable.

Of course, once I went down the IMDb rabbit hole, I realized her résumé goes way beyond that. She’s appeared in Red, White & Royal Blue, Person of Interest, The Rookie, Chicago Fire and The L Word, plus episodes of The Sopranos, Dawson’s Creek and ER.

My Favorite Serial Killer Show Just Hit #3 on Netflix and You Need to Catch Up Immediately

With so many new and returning shows arriving, it's kinda hard to keep track of what to watch. Love Story...not really my thing. The Last Thing He Told Me season two...fine, but did anyone really ask for this?

That's why I've sorted through the hits and misses to deliver you the five best shows of February 2026, hand-down, plus where to watch them. (Sorry, Bridgerton fans. Season four didn't make the list.)

1. Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model

If there's one thing Tyra Banks has always known how to do well, it's how to become a meme. From I was rooting for you! We were all rooting for you! to her newest I'm wildly unfazed and unapologetic documentary memes, she's figured out how to stay in the spotlight, for better or worse.

My favorite, and perhaps the most infuriating, show of the month has to be the highly bingable Netflix docuseries Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model. We get all the dirt and behind-the-scenes details from the reality show that, to offer an understatement, doesn't hold up so well anymore.

We hear from traumatized former contestants, sleighted former judges (like Jay Manuel and Miss J) and the runway queen herself, Tyra Banks. What we don't hear is anything remotely like an apology from Tyra...

2. How to Get to Heaven from Belfast

If you loved Derry Girls as much as I did (OMG, you haven't seen it?! Go watch now!), you're going to be just as obsessed with this new comedy thriller from DG creator Lisa McGee.

3. Paradise

When PureWow sat down with actress Shailene Woodley last fall, she definitely couldn't share any secrets about Paradise season two. “I can't tell you anything about it. I definitely can't,” she said with a grin. “But I’m just so excited.”

And fans have been equally as excited for the return of the breakout hit series starring Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson and James Marsden. Without giving away any season one spoilers, this show is nothing like what it seems at the beginning. It is twist- and drama-filled. Things end with a well-earned answer to the season's big whodunnit, and now, things are picking up right where they left off.

4. 56 Days

Ok, y'all, this show is steamy and tense. Boy meets girl in a grocery store. 56 days later, an unidentifiable body is discovered decaying in a bathtub. Who does the body belong to? Is it the boy, the girl or neither? Is one of them responsible for the person's gruesome death?

Told through twisty and fun flashbacks and flash-forwards, 56 Days jumps through the timeline of Ciara and Oliver's relationship. Things don't appear to be what they seem from the get-go, with intense and sinister music underscoring what would otherwise be romantic moments. Oliver appears to be hiding a massive secret regarding his past and women, and Ciara seems to have quite the history herself.

A warning: the murder scene is not for the faint of heart. And just wait for the twist at the end of episode one...

5. The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins

30 Rock fans may have a bit of deja vu here. This brand-new sitcom comes from the same creators and stars Tracy Morgan playing a very Tracy Jordan-esque character. Here, Morgan is a former football star who fell from grace after a major scandal. Now, he's trying to redeem his image by starring in a documentary about himself. Hijinks ensue.

Joining him in these antics? Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan and Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe.

Honestly, this show is really fun. It's got that same silly yet smart humor that 30 Rock notoriously delivered. And in a season of thrillers and dark documentaries, Reggie Dinkins is a much-welcomed beacon of laughter.

The 8 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026 (6 of Them Have Something in Common...)

The series follows Oliver (Avan Jogia) and Ciara (Dove Cameron), whose meet-cute in a grocery store quickly spirals into an all-consuming romance. What starts as instant chemistry turns into something deeper and darker at lightning speed. 56 days later, police arrive at Oliver’s apartment to investigate a gruesome discovery: a badly decomposed body. Suddenly, the fairy-tale love story takes a sharp turn, leaving one chilling question hanging in the air: who’s responsible?

The series jumps between the present-day investigation and the early, heat-of-the-moment days of their relationship, slowly revealing how things unraveled. The result is part crime procedural, part steamy psychological drama.

Sure, the Top 10 ranking speaks for itself. But it was the reactions that really sold me.

"56 Days is steamy and intense, y'all. Their passionate love affair does not believe in baby steps. But the best part of the show really involves the "whodunnit" of it all," PureWow's VP of News and Entertainment, Phil Mutz gushed.

"Does the body belong to him? To her? To neither of them? Is one of them the killer? Or both? Or neither? I just have so many questions (and that's a good thing when shows nowadays tend to be way too predictable)," Mutz continued. "This thriller certainly has me guessing. And the twist at the end of the first episode? *Chef's kiss.*"

Viewers on Rotten Tomatoes echoed the hype.

One wrote, "I loved this . It had my attention the whole time. Really keeps you on your toes." Another shared, "For most erotic thrillers, storylines are usually weak, but this storyline was really good. the acting was great and i enjoyed every episodes." A third summed it up: "The perfect mash between a cop procedural and a twisted-spicy love story."

The #2 Show on Prime Video Has My Adrenaline *Pumping*

A tiny goat tries to make it in the big leagues of professional "roarball," but runs into teammates who don't think he has what it takes. Leave it to this underdog to prove them wrong in an animated film that is truly star-studded. I'm talking Steph Curry, Jelly Roll, Gabrielle Union, David Harbour, Nicola Coughlin, Jenifer Lewis, Jennifer Hudson and more. Kids age 6 and up will likely enjoy the movie, with pre-teens (and their parents) probably loving it most.

2. The Muppet Show with Sabrina Carpenter

• Runtime: 32 minutes

February not only gave adults Sabrina Carpenter's amazing Grammys performance, but it delivered a family-friendly Sabrina appearance as well. The brand-new Muppet special features Kermit, Miss Piggy and the iconic singer. Parents and non-parents raved about the new Muppet installment, with fans calling for the official return of The Muppet Show. This 32-minute laugh-fest is generally considered appropriate for ages 8 and up, though younger kids are still likely to enjoy the playful humor and antics.

3. The Creature Cases

• Rating: TV-Y
• Number of seasons: 7

Another must-see option for the kids? The Creature Cases on Netflix, and the seventh season or "chapter" just arrived. According to PureWow's VP of Editorial Content (and mom of two) Candace Davison, "The animated series follows two animal detectives and hits all the right 'accidentally educational' notes—kids, particularly around ages 4 to 7, really get into the storyline and wind up learning facts about animals along the way. (And if they didn't, there's a 'Fact File' recap at the end of the episode that quickly sums things up...without making kids feel like they're being taught)."

4. Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie

• Rating: G
• Runtime: 98 minutes

Gabby heads to the real world in this fun, adventure-filled film. Though the G-rated movie first hit theaters back in September, it's now currently streaming on Peacock—and it's a great option for kids age 5 and up. Per Davison, "It's charming, it's wholesome and it's got a whole lot of Kristen Wiig to keep parents entertained." But Wiig isn't the only famous face, with musical icon Gloria Estefan starring in it as well.

5. The Artful Dodger

• Rating: TV-14
• Number of seasons: 2

But the super young kids aren't the only ones who have great content streaming right now. He's supposed to be a reformed thief, but he keeps getting dragged back into the world of heists. He's the Artful Dodger, of course. The Disney+ show features forbidden romance, murder mystery and a new inspector out to hunt the Dodger. With darker themes and some violence, The Artful Dodger is best saved for kids over 14.

15 Shows and Movies to Watch This Weekend

The ten-episode series reunites viewers with U.S. intelligence agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) as a new high-stakes scenario unfolds. Following a deadly terrorist attack that downs a plane, Sutherland is sent to Istanbul to track down a rogue treasury agent who made off with classified files. The situation soon morphs into something even more deadly, as Sutherland and his team discover that another attack could soon play out. As the stakes mount and the clock ticks, fewer and fewer people can be trusted. Can Sutherland expose the conspiracy before it's too late?

In promo for the show, Basso revealed a little bit more of what viewers can expect, and he used one word: "Relentless."

"Trust no one. Not even the people that Peter trusts," he says. From reuniting with former allies to underwater fight scenes, a "heart wrenching twist" and ominous figures like "The Father," it sounds like season three is packed. Weekend plans, anyone?

This Action Drama Just Hit #1 on Netflix & It's Hands-Down the Best Film of the Year so Far

The show’s main cast includes Melissa Roxburgh, and while her name might not immediately seem familiar, her face probably will (it did for me). Turns out, she was in another of my favorite shows.

In The Hunting Party (2025), Roxburgh stars as Rebecca "Bex" Henderson, a brilliant but disgraced former FBI profiler leading an elite, clandestine team tasked with recapturing the nation’s most dangerous serial killers. A role that's kind of similar to one she played previously.

Does Manifest ring a bell?

In that series, which ran from 2018 to 2023, Melissa played Michaela "Mick" Stone, one of the show's central characters. As an NYPD detective and passenger on the mysterious Flight 828, she returns five-and-a-half years later, navigating the trauma of lost time while experiencing supernatural “Callings” that push her to help others.

And if you think that’s all, think again.

You might also recognize her from CBS’s Tracker, the 2016 blockbuster Star Trek Beyond (where she played Ensign Syl), an episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and even Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (2012) and Rodrick Rules (2011).

My Favorite Serial Killer Show Just Hit #3 on Netflix and You Need to Catch Up Immediately

We both really enjoyed the first season. In it, Jennifer Garner and Angourie Rice truly shine as a woman and her stepdaughter searching for their missing husband/father, played by Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. And while we don't get the happiest of endings, we do get an ending—a world where our characters are finally able to move forward.

So it came as quite a surprise when Apple TV renewed The Last Thing He Told Me for a second season. Needless to say, I was skeptical going into season two...here, my honest review.

The sophomore season picks up five years in the future. Hannah (Garner) still can't stop looking over her shoulder, Bailey (Rice) has deep questions about her deceased mother and Owen (Coster-Waldau) is snapping photos of bad guys and secretly dropping lockets into Hannah's pockets. Perhaps most surprising of all? Hannah and Bailey have made nice (like attend-your-birthday-party nice) with Bailey's biological grandfather (David Morse).

The season two premiere episode initially unfolds exactly as I'd imagine given the way season one concluded: Hannah and Bailey are trying to move forward with their lives sans Owen. Things get off to a...slow start.

However, there are a few Easter eggs (no spoilers here!) that imply the speed is about to pick up.

For one, Hannah is giving Alias-light vibes. She's worried that she's being followed, she's got a brand-new alarm system and she's training in boxing (an excuse to let Garner tap into her incredible fighting skills I hope?). On the Bailey front, her digging into her mother's past reveals a guest star who is far too famous to only have a brief episode-one scene (implying she'll be back with a lot more to do soon).

And then, about two-thirds into the first episode...things seriously pick up.

Finally, we get some real momentum, real conflict and, in the final moments of the episode, a real twist.

As before, Garner and Rice are a delight to watch on screen together. And now that things are really speeding up, with their "back-to-normal life" thrown into upheaval, I'm absolutely on board for the rest of season two. Fingers crossed those boxing lessons get put to good use soon...

The 4 Actors (and 1 Movie) That Should Absolutely Win a 2026 Oscar

What do I mean? Well, like anything else, the Oscars are political. There is campaigning involved, and the win often goes to the actor or film with the most buzz or momentum. No doubt that will happen again this year. And while all of the nominees are deserving (these are the best of the best after all), my 2026 picks don’t perfectly align with who will likely take home the prize. (Sorry, Jessie Buckley.)

Her layered performance as a mother experiencing next-level burnout (and descending into madness) is phenomenal. The buzz is all surrounding Hamnet’s Buckley, however, Byrne could pull off the upset win. She did beat out Hudson and Stone for the Golden Globe this year for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy…

Oof, Michael B. Jordan has stiff competition here, but I’m pulling for him, nonetheless. His performance as a pair of twin brothers is nuanced, layered, deep and moving. He makes you laugh one minute, terrifies you the next and breaks your heart the moment after. He lost the Golden Globe to Wagner Moura, but I’m hoping the Academy recognizes how transcendent Jordan’s performance is.

Best Supporting Actress

• Who should win: Amy Madigan, Weapons OR Wunmi Mosaku, Sinners

This is a category where I’d be thrilled if either of two actresses took home the statuette: Madigan for her wild and terrifying Aunt Gladys portrayal or Mosaku for her powerful and Golden Globe-snubbed performance. Honestly, Madigan deserves the win for that scene of her running through the neighborhood houses alone. Meanwhile, Mosaku (who you might recognize from Loki) was absolutely fabulous going toe-to-toe with Jordan (and the walking dead).

Best Supporting Actor

• Who should win: Jacob Elordi, Frankenstein

This has been the year of Jacob Elordi. At the Globes he was nominated in the film and TV categories. He’s currently killing it on the Wuthering Heights press tour. The man is ready for an Oscar. And in a category of beautiful performances, his stands out for its grotesque but moving nature. His portrayal of the creature was wildly unique and, if you ask me, award-worthy.

• Who should win: Sinners

As I pointed out back in December, Sinners was the single best movie of 2025. The cast of this movie is incredible, and what initially feels like a period drama quickly takes a genre-bending turn with a series of tense and thrilling twists. The film is unlike any other that came out last year, thanks to Ryan Coogler’s genius direction. Though others may be rooting for One Battle After Another, I’m all in on Sinners (which just so happened to receive a record-breaking 16 Oscar nominations). 

I Went to the Grammys—This Was the Night’s Best Performance

This high-concept crime procedural follows FBI profiler Rebecca “Bex” Henderson (played by Melissa Roxburgh of Manifest) as she leads a task force to track down the nation’s most dangerous serial killers, criminals everyone thought were already dead. Turns out, they’ve escaped from "The Pit," a secret, underground government prison, and chaos ensues.

The series hits that sweet spot similar to Criminal Minds and Law & Order: SVU. Each episode has its own story, so it’s easy to jump in anywhere, but there are also bigger story arcs that weave through multiple episodes. And honestly, the twists keep coming. Just when you think you’ve figured out what the suspect is up to… surprise! You’re back at square one. It’s the kind of show that actually makes me put my phone down and watch, which is rare in today’s TikTok-and-scroll culture.

Critics and fans are vibing too. It has an 83 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb users are liking it too.

“The actual plot is pretty crazy and offers up some hectic storylines,” one reviewer wrote. Another added, “The show is extremely entertaining,” while a third shared, “It doesn’t drag on the first episode, and you’re knee-deep in the drama and action. The story keeps your attention.”

The Hunting Party first premiered on NBC in January 2025 and was renewed in May 2025 for a second season, which started airing in January 2026. Seeing it on Netflix is exciting because it means a wider audience and more people to obsess over the twists with.

The Best New Show on TV Dropped Yesterday and I Couldn't Binge It Fast Enough

So color me surprised when yesterday's docuseries arrival hooked me from the get-go—and it has nothing to do with murder, an unsolved case or Nancy Grace. But it does seem to involve delivering justice years later...

I'm talking about the buzzy and wildly bingable Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model on Netflix. The three-episode series not only dives into the controversial reality show's origins, but it goes deep behind the scenes, with candid interviews from all of the show's key players (including creator and host Tyra Banks herself).

You guys, this docuseries is so good. And I'm not alone in thinking so. The new series has already hit number one on Netflix in a mere 24 hours.

For any elder millennial like myself, America's Next Top Model was a key part of the television evolution from scripted to reality. It was post-American Idol and Real World, but three years before Real Housewives. And as all of us elder millennials well know, the show was steeped in controversy.

In case you're not familiar or you somehow forgot, this Netflix series reminds you in the opening moments, which feature Banks's infamous contestant takedown: "I was rooting for you! We were all rooting for you! How dare you!" Things only get more dramatic from there.

America's Next Top Model was always problematic, but the documentary paints its origins as slightly more pure. The initial intentions seem to have been positive ones. But the bullying, body shaming and gaslighting that ensued prove that even the best intentions can go astray.

Many of the show's models return in this documentary to share their side of the story—and believe me when I say their words are haunting. Banks does her damnedest to push the "pure intentions" storyline, but it's hard to take it seriously when hearing the heartbreaking stories from the former contestants.

Needless to say, I couldn't binge the show fast enough. Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model is streaming now on Netflix.

Attention Outies: We Have Huge 'Severance' Season 3 (and Season 4) News

The premise hooked me from the start. Neighborhood bookseller Kathleen Kelly takes on an Amazon-esque mega-bookstore run by the arrogant Joe Fox. Joe is hellbent on running Kathleen out of business. All the while, the duo are anonymous penpals on AOL (such were the days), exchanging messages as NY152 and Shopgirl. Both are seeing other people. (Does this count as cheating? You be the judge...) They never talk about their personal lives in the chat room. You'd think that they were destined to never meet. But eventually, Joe figures it out. And what's more, he falls in love with her. Which is a problem, because he's also trying to engineer the demise of Kathleen's family bookstore.

That, however, isn't even the most problematic issue of the plot. It's that in the end, when Shopgirl and NY152 finally reveal their identities in the rose garden on Riverside Drive, Kathleen confesses that she was hoping that it would be Joe. They kiss—and there's not a word about the fact that he's just nuked her mother's beloved bookshop. That he's just destroyed her livelihood. And that in the lead up to the grand reveal, he'd been catfishing Kathleen, trying to bring her around in person while also continuing to court her anonymously as NY152. I mean, if I were Kathleen, I wouldn't have kissed him. Not before I'd thoroughly yelled at him, at the very least. The easy forgiveness had me scratching my head. Because if I recall correctly, I don't think he apologizes for the atrocity. And Kathleen, honey, why weren't you demanding one? There needed to be some form of major confrontation for everything else to feel right.

But who am I to judge? I don't know how I feel about Joe, but I do know that I'm due for a You've Got Mail re-watch.

This New Thriller Remake Is Climbing the Charts—So Why Are Viewers Roasting It?

I'm talking major news about season three, season four and a potential expansion of the Severance universe.

According to an exclusive report from Deadline, we don't have to worry about Mark, Helly and Irv disappearing from our lives any time soon. Per the reporting, "As of now, Severance has been renewed for Season 3. A fourth season is a lock... Four seasons is the target, and Apple is fully on board."

While I might have been hoping that Severance goes on for dozens of seasons, knowing that there is a four-season plan means that the creators at least have a plan (unlike those infamous Lost creators who left us all disappointed and smacking our heads).

The report does mention that a fifth season could be a possibility but that it's not being planned for at the moment. As for the next season, filming is set to begin this summer, meaning we have a while to wait before we get some much-needed answers.

But Severance seasons three and four aren't all we have to look forward to...

Per the report, the show's creators are "open to the idea of doing more with the Severance universe; possibilities include a prequel, spinoffs and foreign versions."

Each of these potential ideas could be super rich when it comes to storytelling. A prequel could dive more into Lumon's origins (although we did get a few inklings in Mrs. Cobel's season two episode). A spinoff could focus in more on a single character (like what is the deal with Mr. Milchick?!). And foreign versions could be fun as well—Squid Games is coming to America, so why not send Severance abroad?

The possibilities really are endless, and IMHO, that makes this Severance news the biggest and best news of the week.

15 Shows and Movies to Watch This Weekend

However, in the extensive press runs leading up to it, there has been much discussion of the use of quotation marks around the title, and Fennell went on record with the BBC, saying, "I wanted to make something that was the book that I experienced when I was 14." So with that in mind, into the theater I went. This is tricky territory, and I'm unlikely to satisfy either the book purists or pop culture lovers. But here is my attempt.

The first thing I scribbled into my notebook was "wildly unhinged." The opener was chilling; I squirmed in my plush velvet seat, looked away. It was morbid; it was grotesque. This was the foundation on which the rest of the film would be laid. In this respect, let's discuss what Fennell did get right. Because spoiler, it wasn't all bad. The director absolutely nailed the ambiance of the Yorkshire moors. Every scene is dark and grimy, filthy, really. The set is borderline claustrophobic, from Wuthering Heights' low ceilings to the various caged animals and Catherine's physics-defying corsets. As per the region, the film is...damp. Most of the time, it's raining; everyone is soaking wet. If Mr. Darcy (or Benedict Bridgerton, for that matter) emerging from the lake made you swoon, then I hate to say it, but you are in the right place. Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff spends an inordinate amount of time in a soaking wet Victorian shirt.

Everything else is a mixed bag. I can't definitively say that it was awful, neither can I say it was excellent. My opinions about the film are grounded in Fennell's quote from the BBC interview: "I wanted to make something that made me feel like I felt when I first read it, which means that it's an emotional response to something. It's, like, primal, sexual." So essentially what we're getting at is that Wuthering Heights is a smutty fan fiction fever dream written by a 14-year-old.

Smutty it was. The opening scene lays the groundwork for what is an incredibly sensual, sexual, sinister undertone. You've seen the trailers: Bread dough, egg yolks, a sweating back looked at in ways you can't unsee. The tension is there, and it's taut. Fennell even goes so far as to imply BDSM in one scene. I'm not sure that any of this was necessary, but it is effective in setting this baseline for brutality that is relentless until the fade-out.

While there was a lot of sexual content (is it an Emerald Fennell movie if there isn't?), I was surprised at how...chaste everything was rendered. There's also the commendable fact that nothing really happens until at least halfway through the film. The characters have to earn it; they're not just thrown together as quickly as possible. I think that in this way, Wuthering Heights did accomplish something that people love about period dramas. The yearning is intense, as it should be. In the book, Heathcliff says of Catherine after losing her to Edgar: "If he loved with all the powers of his puny being, he couldn't love as much in 80 years, as I could in a day."

In this vein, there's also the topic of Heathcliff and Isabella's relationship, which some are saying is inappropriate, goes too far. Yes, it is completely dehumanizing, disturbing, unsettling. People are right to condemn it. Close reading of the source material, though, leads me to believe that, if not the best interpretation, Fennell's vision is a possible interpretation, when Heathcliff says:

"The first thing she saw me do, on coming out of the Grange, was to hang up her little dog, and when she pleaded for it, the first words I uttered were a wish that I had the hanging of every being belonging to her, except one: possibly, she took that exception for herself—But no brutality disgusted her—I suppose she has an innate admiration of it, if only her precious person were secure from injury! Now was it not the depth of absurdity of genuine idiocy, for that pitiful, slavish, mean-minded brach to dream that I could love her?" (Wuthering Heights, page 150)

It is fundamentally imperative to understand that Wuthering Heights is a gothic novel—expecting a sanitized love story à la Jane Austen would be to completely miss the point. Emily Brontë ultimately wrote an intergenerational revenge plot that was deemed "morally transgressive" in its time. It makes me wonder how she would have written the book if she were living today.

Then there is the casting and performances. Totally, completely miscast, but for what it was, I thought the actors executed their roles well, working with what they had. Was it weird to see 35-year-old Margot Robbie act like an impetuous teenager? Yes. Is the actual Catherine an impetuous teenager? Yes. To not play her as such would be to deny the very essence of Brontë's protagonist. And Elordi, though he does not resemble Heathcliff at all (a problem that warrants its own discussion), captured his character's raw brutality in ways that had my heart racing, and not in a swoon-worthy way.

We could decry the litany of ills: The abused Yorkshire accents (this honestly did not bother me), inaccurate (though sumptuous) costumes, contemporary soundtrack, on and on. But to do so would be to hold the film to something it was never going to be. Yes, Fennell's Wuthering Heights is wildly inaccurate. It erases and decentralizes a complex story about a man who is racially ambiguous and of low social standing, putting the focus on a torrid love story that cuts out the second half of the novel. I could almost visualize a 14-year-old Emerald Fennell in her bedroom, furiously typing away on a Compaq computer while a '90s punk girl band played on the boom box—she would have been 13 in 1998, the year that FanFiction.net hit the world wide web.

Truthfully, only a TV series could do Wuthering Heights justice. Fennell's rendition cuts at the halfway point, though in her defense, she wasn't the first to do it. The film, from its references to the Golden Age of Hollywood to its plotting and pacing, was eerily similar to the 1939 adaptation starring Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon, which has the highest rating of all adaptations at 96 percent. Fennell even mentions this adaptation in interviews. But a two-part series for each half of the novel would allow us to appreciate it for what it actually is: A revenge saga.

I'm not saying that Wuthering Heights should win any major awards, but I am saying that for what it set out to be (reminder: 14-year-old smutty fan fiction fever dream), it hit the mark. Evaluating it for what it's never going to be is a moot point. More importantly, if watching the film or simply following the drama surrounding it piques people's interest in the source material, I'll take that as a win, considering that over 50 percent of Americans didn't open a single book last year. Don't agree? Haunt me, then.

Wuthering Heights is in theaters February 13.

Gossip Girl is the American teen drama created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, based on the novels by Cecily von Ziegesar. The show followed a group of Manhattan’s Upper East Side students whose private and social lives were chronicled by the mysterious blogger, “Gossip Girl.” It aired on the CW from September 19, 2007, to December 17, 2012.

Now for the news: fans have reason to celebrate because, according to Deadline, a new Gossip Girl sequel (not to be confused with the short-lived reboot) is in the works, but with two major twists.

First, this sequel won’t be anything like the ensemble show we’ve grown to love. Instead of following the original six main characters—Blair, Serena, Dan, Nate, Chuck, and Jenny—the story will focus mainly on one: Blair.

Second, this sequel is coming in book form. Earlier this month, Deadline reported that the new standalone novel, titled Blair, has been sold.

So what’s it about? Blair picks up 20 years after the original bestselling Gossip Girl series. "Think Blair Waldorf in her 40s...as she returns to the Big Apple to climb her way back to the top of Upper East Side food chain," the outlet reports.

My thoughts? Honestly, I’m here for it. I started reading the series in middle school, long before it became one of the CW’s flagship shows and I can’t wait to see Blair’s story continue.

And (hopefully) the novel will eventually become a new series as well, which will give them a chance to bring back Leighton Meester, the actress who first brought Blair to life on screen.

While a TV show may be a long ways away (if it even happens), the book release is just around the corner. It is expected to hit shelves in summer 2027.

In the meantime, you’ll find me streaming Gossip Girl on HBO Max and reliving all the Upper East Side drama.

4 Book-to-Screen Adaptations I’m Excited for in 2026—and 1 I’m Really Worried About

Unfamiliar dropped on Netflix on February 5, and across six episodes, it follows former intelligence agents Meret and Simon Schäfer. What begins as a quiet night celebrating their daughter Nina’s 16th birthday quickly goes off the rails when an injured, mysterious man appears at their Berlin safe house.

Meret and Simon, seasoned agents, quickly realize that the man’s arrival is tied to a 16-year-old mission in Belarus and to the dangerous Russian operative Josef Koleev. Suddenly, the family is forced to confront long-buried secrets that could put them all at risk.

Viewers are already hooked, and its place in Netflix’s Top 10 proves it. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb are praising the series for its suspense, drama, and unexpected twists.

“Expectations are challenged by exceptional and unexpected outcomes,” one reviewer wrote. “Not your usual drama action piece.”

Another added, “This is the best suspense series on Netflix in the past few months.” A third chimed in, “What a fantastic spy thriller! Interesting plot.”

In a crowded field of twisty thrillers (think His & Hers, The Woman in Cabin 10, Dept. Q, and The Secrets We Keep), Unfamiliar had big shoes to fill, and it seems to be doing just that. Between the clever plotting, tense performances, and family secrets unraveling in real time, it’s exactly the kind of bingeable spy drama audiences have been waiting for.

This Underrated Gerard Butler Crime Movie Just Topped Netflix’s Most-Watched List

The freshly-minted Grammy Album of the Year winner (in the same week, no less), set a spectacular stage, at the center of which was "la casita," a traditional village house. As the show began with "Titi Me Preguntó," a string of celebs, including Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Karol G and Jessica Alba, could be seen getting down to the beats on the home's front porch.

Bad Bunny himself was dressed in all white—track pants and a tailored shirt underneath a mock football jersey. "Titi Me Preguntó" (a song in which he recounts all his girlfriends to his aunt) segued into a cameo from Lady Gaga, with a salsa rendition "Die With a Smile," dressed in a custom power blue, ruffled, traditional Puerto Rican costume designed by Dominican-American brand Luar.

What I loved was that though the set was stagnant, it was created in a way that moved you through a story. Bad Bunny danced on la casita, wandered the streets of old San Juan, grooved in fields and climbed shoddy power lines. Though he himself did not perform much choreography, the constant movement was a captivating narrative.

In a meta moment, we can see Bad Bunny on a tiny retro TV screen, giving his Grammys acceptance speech as a group of actors playing a young family looks on. Bad Bunny then hands his actual Grammy to the child, who takes it adoringly. Other songs included in the lineup were "Nuevayol," "Yo Perreo Sola," "Monaco" and "Baile inolvidable." Ricky Martin made an appearance to sing "LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii" from Bad Bunny's 2025 album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

Most poignant (for the non-Spanish speakers, at least), was the billboard rising above Levi's Stadium proclaiming, "The only thing more powerful than hate is love." As the performance ends and the ensemble begins its exit from the field, Bad Bunny flashes a football at the camera, which reads, "Together, we are America."

"You're listening to music from Puerto Rico, from the neighborhoods, from the slums," he said during the performance. "The reason I'm here is because I never stopped believing in myself."

While the Seattle Seahawks faced off against the New England Patriots at Levi's Stadium in the Santa Clarita, California, I was leaking tears over Lady Gaga's collaboration with Rocket and Redfin. In it, the Grammy-winner sings a rendition of Mister Roger's classic "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" as viewers follow the stories of two people trying to find community in their neighborhoods. One is a cheerful man trying to befriend a next-door curmudgeon. The other is a girl who has recently moved away from her dad and is trying and, at first, failing, to make friends.

Over these montages—missed connections, a ravaging thunderstorm, lost dog, fallen tree—are Gaga's vocals, melancholic, haunting, hopeful, her mezzo-soprano rendered wistful as she asks, "It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood / A beautiful day for a neighbor / Would you be mine? Could you be mine?" And then, it becomes cautiously hopeful with "Since we're together, we might as well say / Would you be mine? / Could you be mine? /Won't you be my neighbor?"

To accompany the ad, Rocket and Redfin released a documentary-style, black-and-white video of Gaga workshopping the song, sung as a piano ballad, while the singer reflected on her own childhood memories of watching Mister Rogers. In a time where relationships feel fraught and AIs are treated like friends more than actual humans are, the power of community, kindness and childlike acceptance of others was a poignant reminder that it's in all of our power to be good neighbors.

On my flight out, I spotted Mayor of Kingstown and figured I'd give it a go. Three hours later, I had finished all three episodes that were available on my plane, and I couldn't wait until I got home so I could keep watching the rest.

With no more Kingstown at my disposal mid-flight, I then tested out the limited series Task. Boom—another great show! I kept watching until I was forced to get off the plane, and then picked right up binging on my flight back to New York two days later.

But whether you're trying to stay occupied on a plane or just looking for something great to watch from home, allow me to recommend Mayor of Kingstown on Paramount+ and Task on HBO. Here's why...

Mayor of Kingstown is dark, intense and it comes from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. It has an incredible lead cast that I immediately recognized in the first episode: Jeremy Renner (Avengers), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) and Taylor Handley (The O.C.) play the McLusky Brothers, while the iconic Dianne Wiest (Bullets Over Broadway) plays their mother. Renner and Wiest are particularly spectacular.

The show follows the McLuskys as they run the show and pull all the strings in a corrupt prison town. And while the series is technically a drama, it feels much more thriller to me, with wild twists (OMG, the end of episode one!!!) and tension-filled scenes. Think The Wire, but more fast-paced.

Mayor of Kingstown might be dark, but it's also extremely fun and bingable. The pace is fast, with new plotlines popping up all the time. And, unlike new shows where you don't know if they will get a season two renewal (cough, Boots, cough), because I'm so late to the show here, there are four full seasons to work my way through.

The show first debuted on Paramount+ back in 2021, with its most recent season coming out this past October. The Taylor Sheridan hit has also been renewed for a fifth and final season, but I should have plenty of time to get caught up before the last installment arrives.

While Mayor of Kingstown gives The Wire vibes, Task is more a cross between Sons of Anarchy and Mare of Easttown. The Mare similarities shouldn't come as too big of a shock, as both the Kate Winslet-led 2021 series and Task were created by the same guy, Brad Ingelsby.

This twist-filled show follows a task force assigned to stop a group of robbers who keep hitting drug houses and stealing boatloads of cash. At least, that's the initial setup. Things go awry for the team of robbers real fast. And the task force? Well, they may just have a mole in their midst.

Task stars Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things) as the head of the task force, who happens to be dealing with a whole lot of major problems (including a murder) back home. He's up against Tom Pelphrey (Ozark) as the head of the "gang" of robbers, who happens to be dealing with his own mess of problems back home.

The performances are strong, the storytelling is great and the reveals are a mix of shocking and heartbreaking. A must-watch combination if you ask me.

The 5 Best Shows of January, Hands-Down

If you missed it the first time around, Copshop is a fast-paced action thriller centered on a clever con artist played by Frank Grillo. In a desperate attempt to hide from a deadly hitman (Gerard Butler), he intentionally gets himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station.

The plan? Lay low. The problem? The hitman gets himself arrested too and ends up in the cell right next door. Chaos quickly follows, with a rookie cop, played by Alexis Louder, caught squarely in the middle of a violent standoff.

The neo-noir film first hit theaters in September 2021, debuting in the UK before making its way stateside. It later landed on Netflix in 2022, though it quietly disappeared from the platform at some point. While it’s unclear exactly when it was removed, its recent return has been anything but subtle, hence that shiny number one ranking after dropping back on the streamer on February 1.

Critically, Copshop has held up pretty well over time. On Rotten Tomatoes, critics give it an 83 percent score, while audiences clock in at 74 percent, based on combined reviews from its original release and its recent streaming resurgence.

Viewers seem especially impressed by its relentless pace and tight setting.

“Foot to the pedal from the get-go and never lets up. This is the way action-thrillers should be made,” one reviewer wrote. Another praised the plot, saying, “Great story with twists and turns. Great cast.” A third chimed, “Such a great down to earth thriller, full of ultimate action in a small setting.”

This Action Drama Just Hit #1 on Netflix & It's Hands-Down the Best Film of the Year so Far

But back when Knight first found the ice, competing in the Olympics was just a pipe dream. “My dream was to play hockey at the Olympics,” she says in a 2024 interview with Togethxr, “and at the time, women’s hockey wasn’t in the Olympics.” The sport was finally added in 1998, and since then, has grown to new heights stateside with the creation of the Professional Women’s Hockey League as well as the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association, of which Knight is a founding member.

As captain of the 2026 U.S. Women’s National Team, Knight hopes to bring home the gold one last time. Leading up to the games, she partnered with everyone’s favorite candy company, Hershey’s, for their Hershey’s. It’s Your Happy Place campaign. As a supporter of Team USA, Hershey’s teamed up with multiple U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes to “share their stories of finding happiness, beyond the podium.” I got a chance to sit down with Knight and talk all things hockey, happiness and, yes, Heated Rivalry.

It's been 20 (!) years since you made your ice hockey national team debut. What made you first fall in love with the sport?

HK: Skating around the rink, feeling the wind in my hair through the helmet. I enjoyed meeting other kids and the challenge of learning such a dynamic sport.

Take me back to your childhood. Did you have a special post-game celebration ritual with your friends or family? Any core memories that stick out? 

HK: A chocolate and almond Hershey’s bar post-game is one of my favorite treats. When I was younger, I would play outdoor hockey and come in to the warming house for a break and eat [some] Reese’s [Peanut Butter] cups and then head back outside.

Speaking of, you partnered with Hershey’s for these upcoming games. What does the campaign’s slogan, “happiness is the real gold,” mean to you?

HK: [This partnership] feels natural... “Happiness is the real gold” is about all the smaller moments that people don’t necessarily see. The quiet everyday moments.

Back in May, you announced that Milan-Cortina 2026 will be your final Olympics. What are you most excited about for these upcoming games?

HK: It’s the OLYMPICS! Super excited to represent Team USA and compete on the world stage.

Looking ahead, what do you hope to see for the future of women’s ice hockey in America?

HK: Consistent growth and investment.

Finally, we're dying to know—have you seen Heated Rivalry? What are your thoughts on the attention it’s bringing to the sport right now?

HK: Representation is important. Putting different identities and stories in front of a wider audience helps push the sport forward. It opens doors, sparks conversation and hopefully creates more opportunities for everyone to enjoy the sport and feel supported. I love all the buzz Heated Rivalry has generated.

J.Crew's Retro Collab with the U.S. Olympic Ski and Snowboard Team Has Me Ready to Hit the Slopes

The 2026 ceremony was held at the Crypto.com Center Sunday night, and it was honestly next-level incredible. Of course, there were wild red carpet looks and plenty of controversial wins. But, y'all, those performances. One after another blew me away: Sabrina Carpenter, Reba McEntire, Pharrell Williams.

And then there was my favorite performance of the night: Bruno Mars (yes, I'm just as surprised as you are).

At-home viewers may have been more obsessed with Gaga (those of us who were in person mostly got to see cameras filming her close up and smoke obscuring her). However, Bruno Mars majorly delivered for our in-person audience (and the folks at home) with his solo single "I Just Might."

The staging was fabulous. The song is catchy. His vocals were on point. And the whole thing gave throwback, nostalgic vibes. It was 10/10 for me.

And this wasn't his only performance of the night. He also opened the show with his hit "APT" with Rosé (another top-notch performance).

Though Bruno stole my heart with his pair of performances, there were other notable moments during the Grammys. Of course, there was Sabrina Carpenter (I felt hugely fortunate to be able to see her live).

I also loved Best New Artist nominee Alex Warren (even if I did catch him having an awkward fist bump moment with a fan)...

As I mentioned, Grammys night wasn't my first live music rodeo of the year. Back in April, Kylie was incredible doling out old and new hits at Madison Square Garden. Beyoncé stunned me with a three-hour concert in the pouring rain. And then there was Gaga's 150-minute, five-act concert, which turned out to be the best thing I saw in 2025.

Taylor Swift Makes History by Breaking Spotify Record

Similarly to the way Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch was an ode to journalism, Nouvelle Vague is a love letter to a groundbreaking period of cinematic history. Set in 1959, the film follows pioneering director and film critic Jean-Luc Godard as he sets out to make his legendary film, Au Bout de Souffle (Breathless). The '50s were the last legs of the Golden Age of Hollywood, defined by huge budgets, sound stages, elaborate lighting and stars the likes of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Audrey Hepburn, Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor. Godard ripped up all that tradition, and the film chronicles his erratic, revolutionary and very often stressful filmmaking methods as he corals a doubtful producer and skeptical American actress into executing his vision.

The film is shot entirely in black-and-white, probably referencing Godard's own choice to shoot Breathless on black-and-white Ilford HP5, a film that at the time was not available for movie cameras. One of his first hacks is to splice together reels of his desired film, and the second is to push his cameraman, handholding the movie camera, in a wheelchair or postal cart, to give the movie a documentary, guerilla feel. No lights. No sound stages. No synched sound.

As someone who loves Anderson's work, I was instantly drawn to Nouvelle Vague's quirky, theatrical style. Think quick pans and title cards to introduce the veritable cast of heavyweights—including François Truffaut, Claude Chabrol, Suzanne Schiffman and Roberto Rosesllini—so many it was dizzying to keep track. The casting was also spot on; the actors very closely resembled those they were playing, and it felt like you were on the ground, next to Godard, as he churned out his film, got into fistfights and doggedly persisted in annoying everybody. Many scenes they portrayed were nearly identical to footage in Breathless, and watching the films back-to-back was amusing.

Overall, what I loved most was the conversation Nouvelle Vague posed about art. What does it mean to be an artist when you exist in a capitalist framework? Can you rush creativity, crank it out Old Hollywood-style in a machine, engineered to produce hit after hit? Is there a right way to execute the creative process? In the film, Godard must constantly negotiate all these questions as his producer pressures him to work more efficiently, and he subsequently enrages them by shooting only 15 minutes on some days, when he's "out of ideas." Do we risk it all for the sake of innovation, even if profit isn't promising? As a creative person and someone who just wrote a novel, I ask myself many of these questions almost daily. And what gives me hope to keep creating is exactly what pushes Godard forward: The belief you're reaching for something beyond the medium and beyond yourself.

Ha, a South Korean-Australian actress, started her career in theater, starring alongside Mia Wasikowska and Eliza Scanlen in the Sydney Theatre Company's 2019 production of Lord of the Flies. That same year, she was cast in the Steven Spielberg-backed adaptation of Halo, playing Kwan Ha. It debuted on Paramount+ in 2022, during which she also made her feature film debut, Sissy, which premiered at South by Southwest.

Her more recent and prominent projects before Bridgerton include Dune: Prophecy (2024) and two Australian series, Bad Behaviour (2023) and The Survivors (2025) in supporting roles as Young Kasha, Alice and Mia Chang, respectively.

While she's yet to announce any new projects, it's safe to say I'll be plenty busy binging season four, and hoping Lady Whistledown has something soon to report.

Yerin Ha Teases ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 & Confirms That Filming Is Almost Complete

This season centers on the fan-favorite second son (played by Luke Thompson) and his long-awaited romance with Sophie Beckett, portrayed by newcomer Yerin Ha. Their story is adapted from An Offer from a Gentleman and has been described as a Cinderella-inspired fairy tale, with a twist.

A season devoted entirely to Benedict means a lot more screen time for Thompson, 37, which got me wondering, “What else has the star been in?” If you’ve been asking yourself the same thing, you’re in the right place.

The English actor’s résumé goes back over a decade and starts with Shakespeare. Thompson appeared as Lysander in Shakespeare’s Globe: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, before going on to portray Mark Antony in Globe on Screen: Julius Caesar in 2015, according to IMDb.

In 2016, he took on Romeo in The Complete Walk: Romeo and Juliet. A few years later, he continued his classical streak with appearances in the TV movie Hamlet and a theater production of King Lear in 2018.

That said, it’s not all doublets and iambic pentameter. Thompson also popped up in Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning war epic Dunkirk, which featured an ensemble cast including Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Harry Styles and Barry Keoghan.

In the 2017 film, Thompson played a Warrant Officer—brief, yes, but memorable. More recently, while still participating in Bridgerton, he appeared in another Netflix series, Transatlantic, which premiered in 2023.

In short, Thompson has quietly built a steady, impressive career over the past ten-plus years. And whether intentional or not, he clearly has a knack for period pieces.

No shade, he’s very good at them. We’ve watched him crush it as Benedict for three seasons already and now that season four puts him fully in the spotlight, it kind of feels like he was made for this moment.

Shonda Rhimes’ Kids Make Rare Appearance at the 'Bridgerton' Season 4 Premiere (& I Just Have One Question)

The show follows Zara Dunne (Turner), a junior trade processor at a London pension fund whose ordinary day spirals into chaos when masked criminals storm the office and take employees hostage. From there, Zara fights to clear her name, navigating a maze of conspiracies, secret intelligence involvement, and hidden agendas, all while the series dives into the murky ethics of finance and the extremes to which people will go to for a better life.

Since its January 21 drop, audiences have been hooked.

“Show has great pace and is very entertaining! Easy 4-5 episode binge,” one viewer wrote on Rotten Tomatoes. Another raved, “Lovin this series—the action, the acting, everything is mmmm like your first sip of a perfect red wine.” A third added, “Keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire series.”

Even PureWow’s VP of News and Entertainment Phil Mutz is a fan.

“It’s hard not to be drawn in instantly to this thriller—the pace is fast from the get-go, and the first episode ends on a major cliffhanger,” he shared. “Turner is fabulous in a role far from her Sansa Stark or Jean Grey days—her ‘normal person’ character is layered and fascinating.”

All six episodes of Steal are streaming now, and with that kind of buzz, it’s safe to say this is one thriller you won’t want to miss.

Sandokan goes undercover as a shipwrecked merchant to infiltrate the British consulate and ends up dangerously close to the consul’s daughter. His daring heist quickly becomes high-stakes, especially when a notorious pirate hunter starts to suspect he’s not who he claims to be.

Intrigued yet? Clearly, a lot of viewers were, since the show cracked Netflix’s Top 10 and the reviews are on point. One viewer wrote on IMDb, "I saw it all in one sitting because I couldn't stop." Another said, "An extremely interesting and dynamic series," while a third shared, "I'm so tired of cop shows and romcom. Sandokan provides a refreshing bit of escapism from our crazy world today."

PureWow Editor, Steph Maida even raved, "I love a good period piece, and even more so a good love triangle—and the one in Sandokan is shaping up to be steamy. I'm already finding it hard to choose between the swashbuckling pirate and the smoldering Lord Brooke (played by Ed Westwick, who definitely brings some Chuck Bass energy to the character). I've described it to my friends as Poldark meets Pirates of the Caribbean. I can't stop bingeing it!"

The leads have gotten a lot of love too, with Can Yaman and Gossip Girl alum Westwick earning particular praise for their performances.

And here’s a fun fact: this Netflix version isn’t new. It’s actually one of several adaptations of Emilio Salgari’s classic novels about Sandokan. There was even a 1976 Italian TV adaptation that became a hit.

This Action Drama Just Hit #1 on Netflix & It's Hands-Down the Best Film of the Year so Far

January 2026 has brought us some stellar shows—The Pitt, Steal, The Traitors. It's also given us some misses—anyone else think The Beauty is a little too gross and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is, well, kinda boring?

Here, the five best shows of January, hands-down, plus where to stream them. (I even included a few runners-up, so don't get too mad at me if your fave didn't make the top five.)

1. The Pitt

Season two of The Pitt is phenomenal. I binged the first three episodes in a single sitting, and I was sad I had to wait for Thursday for the next episode to arrive.

Noah Wyle is at his award-winning best in the sophomore season. Our favorite faces are back—Katherine LaNasa continues to steal every scene she's in—and we've got a few new faces for added conflict—I'm already loving Sepideh Moafi as Dr. Robby's sabatical replacement.

And, as with any good medical show, every patient whose face you kinda recognize inevitably gets a multi-episode arc involving a twist/surprise diagnosis.

2. PONIES

My favorite new show of 2026? PONIES, without question. Emilia Clarke (hey, Daenerys) and Haley Lu Richardson (hey, Portia) play an odd couple in this quirky spy thriller set in '70s Russia.

When tragedy strikes early in episode one, these spy wives try to figure out exactly what happened by, you guessed it, becoming spies themselves. Clarke's prudish Bea finds it difficult to get her hands dirty, while Richardson's wild Twila is too much of a loose cannon. But together? Solid television casting!

This is another highly bingeable option that fans of The Americans will love.

3. Steal

Steal doesn't waste any time jumping into the action. The premiere episode surrounds a dramatic heist, with Sophie Turner's office worker Zara stuck in the middle of it.

It's hard not to be drawn in instantly to this thriller—the pace is fast from the get-go, and the first episode ends on a major cliffhanger. Turner is fabulous in a role that is far from her Sansa Stark or Jean Grey days—her "normal person" character is layered and fascinating.

No spoilers here, but I did gasp pretty loudly during one particularly juicy twist. You'll know when it happens.

4. His & Hers

The theme of my top five list must be binge-ability and twists, because I flew through every episode of this twist-filled whodunnit in a single weekend.

Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal play an estranged married couple who are separately out to solve a violent, small-town murder. The big problem? They each suspect the other might be involved.

Like any good murder mystery, this limited series presents a slew of suspects. And as someone who always figures out who the killer is before I reach the end (yes, that's a humble brag), I was shocked to find I was quite wrong when I reached the final final twist (yes, there are way more than one).

5. The Traitors

It should come as no surprise that this reality TV phenom has made the top five shows list—it's the ultimate in water cooler convo fodder, even if we don't talk around water coolers anymore.

Alan Cumming is back as host, with his fashion and hair color choices as eye-catching as ever. But the best choice of all? The selection of traitors this time around. No spoilers if you have yet to watch, but they've provided plenty of drama (and meme-able moments).

And while the onscreen fireworks have been intense, the offscreen drama has been high as well. In fact, the official Traitors team had to issue a statement to fans asking them to calm down.

The Runners-Up

The 8 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026 (6 of Them Have Something in Common...)

I decided to give each of those four options a shot (what else are snow days for if not binging TV?!). I found two of them to be so good that I immediately dove into subsequent episodes. The other two? Not so much...

PONIES

First up on my must-watch list? PONIES on Peacock.

No need for a double-take if the stars of PONIES look familiar. They're none other than Daenerys Targaryen herself, Emilia Clarke, and The White Lotus season two's Haley Lu Richardson. The duo play unlikely spies trying to uncover a huge conspiracy in this surprisingly funny thriller set in 1970s Russia.

This show is wildly bingeable (I flew through three episodes in a single sitting). Clarke and Richardson are fabulous as an "odd couple" pairing—Clarke is uptight and reserved, while Richardson is a free spirit (and a loose canon). They play off of each other extremely well, injecting humor into what could otherwise be a very tense situation. Think The Americans, but funny.

PONIES is jam-packed with twists and high stakes, making it one of my favorites of the year so far.

Steal

Speaking of twists and high stakes, allow me to also recommend Steal on Prime Video.

Another Game of Thrones alum (Sansa Stark herself, Sophie Turner) stars in this heist thriller show. The limited series may have fewer dragons than GoT, but it grips you from the get-go.

No spoilers here, but episode one jumps right into a major heist where bad guys with guns take over an office in an effort to steal billions of dollars. One of the office workers who they need in order to execute their plan? Sophie Turner.

The first episode is so action-packed and fun that it's hard to believe there will be five more episodes to follow. But the twist at the end of the premiere is so good, you'll immediately want to dive into the next episode like I did.

The Beauty

Ryan Murphy is back (as if he ever went anywhere) with a new thriller/horror series about a massive beauty conspiracy. This one stars Ashton Kutcher and Bella Hadid. I'm sure I'm not the only one who went into this praying it's more Nip/Tuck and less All's Fair.

In defense of the show, it's not bad a la All's Fair. The first sequence of the first episode is bonkers with a capital "B." The premise is an interesting one (even if it does seem to be an awful lot like that of The Substance...). But the grotesque nature of the show is so extreme so early that it's frankly just not for me.

With a number of highly disturbing (and graphic) sequences presented one after another, I have to question where else the show has left to even go? If we're starting at a ten, I can only imagine where the series will end. (If every other Murphy show is an indication, the plane will land somewhere out in left field.) Alas, I personally will never find out for sure.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

This series is a prequel to the OG Game of Thrones and is inspired by several George R.R. Martin novellas. (How about we skip any more novellas and finish those GoT books, George?!)

I will say that I appreciate that the series takes a much more human approach, relying on story and personality over big-budget effects involving dragons and white walkers. However, episode one is...kinda boring. Things get off to a very slow start. And while I enjoyed the moments of levity, I couldn't help but wonder...do we all still care about Game of Thrones?

It's been nearly seven years since Daenerys went mad (and fans got mad at the showrunners). And though I've enjoyed dabbling with House of the Dragon, I think I've hit my quota when it comes to Westeros-inspired content.

The 10 Best Shows of 2025

If it feels like you can’t scroll without seeing one of them, you’re not imagining it. What’s even more interesting, though, is that this sudden wave of fame didn’t come out of nowhere. Before Heated Rivalry, both actors quietly built résumés packed with some seriously recognizable projects.

Let’s start with Hudson Williams.

Before the 24-year-old Canadian actor stepped into the spotlight as Shane Hollander, he spent years working steadily in short films and television roles. One credit in particular stands out: Hudson appeared on one of CBS’s biggest hits, Tracker. The series, led by This Is Us alum Justin Hartley, is currently airing its third season and has become a major network success. In 2025, Hudson appeared as Brandon Stokes in season two, episode nine, titled “The Disciple.”

Then there’s Connor Storrie.

The 25-year-old Texas native has an IMDb page that stretches back to 2018, but you don’t have to scroll far to find a standout credit. Before taking on the role of Ilya Rozanov, Connor appeared in Joker: Folie à Deux. Released in 2024, the film credits him as the “young inmate.”

It’s clear both actors were already laying the groundwork long before Heated Rivalry changed everything. As for what’s next, fans will have to wait and see, but one thing is locked in: a second season. HBO Max and Crave have officially renewed Heated Rivalry, with filming expected to begin this summer.

I Left This Steamy Series Off My 'Top 10 Shows of 2025' List and People Were *Not* Happy

In a world of predictable plots and overhyped twists, it’s rare for a film—especially a crime-action thriller—to truly blow me away. But I can honestly say The Rip did exactly that. It had me on the edge of my seat (and my blood pressure up) constantly wondering what would happen next. It was so good that I’m willing to go as far as to call it the best film of the year…so far. So, what’s The Rip all about?

The story centers on Miami-Dade narcotics officers still reeling from the death of their captain, who unexpectedly discover $20 million hidden in a stash house. As word of the find leaks, suspicion and tension creep in, making it increasingly hard for the team to know who to rely on. Bound by strict protocol to remain on-site while counting the money, they are forced into a high-stakes test of loyalty, morality and the fine line between duty and temptation.

Adding another layer of intrigue, The Rip is inspired by a real-life drug bust. In 2016, Miami-Dade County Sheriff Chris Casiano and his narcotics squad raided a Miami Lakes residence and discovered $24 million hidden inside. One key difference between real life and the movie: the film’s corrupt cop character is entirely fictional.

Alongside Damon and Affleck, the tense thriller, released on Netflix January 16, stars Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Kyle Chandler.
